Curiously, a song written over 50 years ago by the Rolling Stones was prophetic.
For those of you who can recall, the following line is, “But if you try, sometimes you’ll find, you get what you need,”
In my practice, many mid-career individuals find that life in corporate America is not what they hoped for. This suggests the following question… perhaps there is a better way? The problem is that this involves change, and most of us resist change, even if it is for the better.
Sometimes, being a pragmatist is an excellent idea.
So, what kinds of business are we talking about?
Most companies we represent are not sexy, exciting, or cutting-edge. What they are is profitable and, in many cases, highly rewarding. I have business cards in my closet for sexy businesses that failed, and by coincidence, they are right alongside my stock options, conveniently on a roll for easy use. I called them “Charmin’s.”
What we do.
The Entrepreneur’s Source core competency is finding a business that satisfies our client’s income, lifestyle wealth, and equity requirements. This may be more complex than one thinks because most of us have danced to the tune of our boss forever. If you have a business, you dance to your theme based on your goals, needs, and expectations.
The Journey.
Finding a business that works for you, along with the knowledge and understanding necessary to navigate this process, is what we have successfully done for over 40 years. Of course, one must accept that “sometimes, if you try, you get what you need.”
So, what does this mean? It’s about putting your needs before your boss’s, plain and simple.
